Nowadays, contributed by the construction of elevated light rail urban traffic network has became more and more improved. Although it brings fast transportation, it has some negative effects. The space of two sides of the elevated light rail do not always been completely used.The elevated railway was originally a perfect viewing platform which can only undertake a simplex function.
One other hand, as a consequence of wanton expansion of the motor vehicle, much more spaces of bicycle lanes have been occupied. It’s a common phenomenon that we can often find some bicycle lanes occupied by motor vehicle. Where is the space for bicycle lanes?
There are many methods to construction bicycle lanes around the world. After making a research, We find that it may cause traffic chaos once bicycle lanes have been built in the original traffic system. However, building elevated bicycle lanes separately costs a lot. On the contrary, building bicycle lanes on elevated light rail not only can avoid problems above, but also create a more efficient elevated transportation system.
